Utah Life Magazine is looking for talented Writing & Photography Correspondents to help us cover Utah for our bimonthly print magazine subscribers. We write entertaining stories about the people, places, history, culture and communities of our state. Our subscribers are residents of Utah who want to know and understand our state better.
Writing applicants should have a portfolio that demonstrates their ability for crisp, clean and concise copy with lively anecdotes and colorful quotations. Photography applicants should have experience shooting feature stories for print publications. Can you do both writing and photography? Even better!
Our Writing & Photography Correspondents are contract positions paid by the word and photo published.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Advertising Sales Director at Nebraska Life Magazine. The Advertising Sales Director will be responsible for managing, developing and growing the advertising sales across the state, creating and implementing a sales strategy, maintaining current relationships with clients, prospecting for new clients and developing advertising-funded products. This is a remote position but does require residency in Nebraska.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, acting as the primary point of contact for advertising inquiries and opportunities.
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing and production teams to create compelling advertising packages and campaigns that align with client objectives and target audience.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports and presentations to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics, achievements and areas for improvement.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences and networking functions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in advertising sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a keen understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and advertising trends.
- Results-oriented mindset, with a passion for driving business growth.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software; experience with advertising sales platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of the Nebraska regional market and familiarity with local businesses, industries and demographics is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications or related field of study.

Utah Life Magazine is hiring an Advertising Sales Executive to sell advertising into our international subscriber magazines. You will work with businesses, non-profit organizations and governmental entities who wish to reach our unique and loyal audience of subscribers. This job can be full-time or part-time.

Core Duties
- Contact existing clients and prospective clients by phone, mail, email and in person - light travel around Utah required
- Log notes, orders and other data into CRM
- Develop prospect lists for new marketing campaigns
- Deliver and follow-up on proposals
- Provide customer service to clients
- Plan and execute sales and marketing campaigns
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related fields of study
- Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams
- CRM experience preferred (Magazine Manager, Salesforce, etc.)
- A demonstrated aptitude for and comfort selling, though no prior media sales experience is necessary
- Professional organizational habits with a penchant for processes
- Excellent business writing skills
- Excellent phone skills

- An appreciation for magazines, especially print magazines
